Terms of Use

Acceptance

By using CrashDecoder you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

The nature of the information here

This site publishes general technical information about Windows error codes and hardware diagnostics. It is educational. It is not a professional repair service, and no page here constitutes a diagnosis of your specific machine.

Hardware faults are probabilistic and systems differ. Guidance that resolves a problem on one machine may not apply to yours, and the pages here are deliberately written to distinguish what evidence proves from what it merely suggests.

Risk

Some procedures described on this site carry real risk. Editing the registry, changing UEFI settings, running Driver Verifier, opening a computer, or replacing components can cause data loss, render a system unbootable, void a warranty, or damage hardware.

You perform these at your own risk. Back up your data first. Check your warranty status before opening anything. If you are not confident, use a qualified technician - and note that several pages here explicitly recommend exactly that.

No warranty

The content is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Errors are corrected when identified, but no guarantee is made that the information is complete or current.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CrashDecoder and its author are not liable for any damages arising from use of this site or reliance on its content - including data loss, hardware damage, lost time, or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Intellectual property

The written content on this site is the original work of its author and is protected by copyright. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link. Reproducing pages wholesale, including via automated scraping or republication in a different wrapper, is not permitted.

Windows, Microsoft, NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Dell and other product names are trademarks of their respective owners. This site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. Trademarks are used only to identify the products discussed.

These terms may be updated. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
